fully agree on using a gap year to further invest into an existing opportunity rather than finding a new one
but even if you "waste" all your time during the gap year, i think it'll give you so much space that even if you don't end up doing much you still learn a lot about yourself and build a fuck ton of character which is super important in the long run. better to try and fail than to continue with the status quo yfm, especially if there's little downside
currently on a self-organized, exploratory gap term and building conviction for a project is #1. work expands to fill the time available!
